A priest has carried out an aerial exorcism over the seaside town of Castellammare di Stabia in Italy to cast away demons believed to be plaguing the area following a series of thefts in churches and crosses being turned upside down.
Following a request of a local prayer group, a priest used a helicopter in performing a minor exorcism over the whole town, the Catholic News Agency reported.
“If Satan exists, he has taken control of Castellammare di Stabia,” the group said in a statement. “There was nothing left but to try the exorcist.”
The town has long been infested with violence from organised crime, but what made locals believe that something more sinister was at work were the series of thefts in churches, desecration of graves, statues of Mother Mary being tossed over cliffs, and crosses being turned upside down. Read more at Christian Today
