The Alabama Exorcist: Pastor who cast out demons founded ‘deliverance’ ministry

If you were possessed by demons and needed an exorcism, the Rev. Bill French was the man to call in Alabama.
French, who founded Advocate Ministries in 1974, was an Irondale pastor who helped people escape from cults and occult activities.
He was an evangelical exorcist. He claimed to have cast hundreds of demons out of people. He said he counseled more than 100 people who claimed to be demonic cult survivors, all of them with multiple-personality disorders.
“He said, ‘I’ve seen everything that was in the movie ‘The Exorcist’ except somebody’s head turning all the way around,'” his son, the Rev. Michael French, said. “He dealt with people most folks wouldn’t want to stop and talk to.”
