Exorcism was arranged at old courthouse, former official tells ghost hunters

Construction workers transforming an old jail into office space at a courthouse in New Jersey noticed some strange, possibly paranormal activity, spurring a story about a prisoner who committed suicide.

That’s when family members of the deceased inmate called Joe Manganello, who was a freeholder on the Gloucester County board at the time. The family wanted to perform an exorcism at the Gloucester County Courthouse, Manganello recently told the GCC Ghost Chasers Club. With so much evil in our world, and especially with the rash of school shootings in recent years, I recently reread “The Exorcist” by William Peter Blatty (1971) and rewatched the 1973 film, which won an Oscar for Blatty in his film adaption. This is the question I was asking: Does possession by evil, symbolized by the devil or Satan, provide us with clues to the evil we saw in the faces of so many of those school killers? Many who claim to have experience paranormal activity in their home report that the family dog or cat often is observed turning its head as if something unseen is walking through the room.  In essence the pet owner believes that the animal is turning its head while following the movement of an entity through the house; while in other cases we have heard reports of the animal barking, becoming agitated, running from the room to its favorite hiding place, or even running through the house as if following the trail of its unseen quarry.  A recent study reports that it is possible that the phenomena of a pet seeming to watch an unseen object move, might be a very possible reality.
